The popularity of the Tribal War rhythm was massive in the late seventies. John Holt’s cut of it for Channel One – easily put it into the top ten rhythms. Little Roy’s original cut is still the best – and features Dennis Brown on bass it seems. What a talent that youth was!!! Flash forward a year or so after John Holt’s cut and here is George Nooks aka Prince Mohammed. Singing in a Dennis Brown style. If old Gibbo wanted a cut of the rhythm – and Dennis couldn’t or wouldn’t voice it – he could find no better to sing the song...
