Mamie Perry was an R&B singer with the Gus Jenkins Orchestra based in Los Angeles in the mid-fifties who recorded singles for ‘Flash’ and ‘Pioneer International’, the latter owned by Jenkins and Clayton Metzler. Her ‘Flash’ 45 features the moody “I’m Hurted” and the stroller “My Baby Waited Too Long”, both excellent sides, but it is her super-rare her 1959 ‘Pioneer’ recording “Lament” that captures our attention and that of collectors across Europe.
Anna Belle Caesar recorded two singles for Lionel and Gladys Hampton’s ‘Glad Hamp’ label and here we feature her debut cut “Little Annie” from 1962, previously issued on RSV016 and back by popular demand. A guaranteed floorfiller!
